In November 2017, a process for the Lithia Park Master Plan was launched. The plan will guide the management of the resources, facilities and visitor experiences over the next 100 years, ensuring that Lithia Park continues to shine as Ashlands jewel. The selected team of consultants was led by the Portland office of MIG, Inc. and included local landscape architect KenCairn Associates, among other team members. You can view the plan at ashland.or.us/LithiaParkMasterPlan. Japanese Garden RedesignThe current Japanese style garden in Lithia Park was evaluated during the Lithia Park Master Plan process. It was determined that the garden could potentially be redesigned and even expanded without negatively affecting the adjoining park spaces. Landscape designer Toru Tanaka has been selected to lead the vision and design of a new authentic Japanese Garden. Tanaka was trained in Japan and was the Director of Portlands Japanese Garden.
