We’ll listen to recordings of bird songs during the course and talk about tips for learning songs. We’ll also see multiple photos of our local birds. No prior experience necessary. Native Fish of Bear Creek Despite being the most urbanized segment of the Rogue River watershed, Bear Creek continues to produce native fish such as salmon, steelhead and other species. Participants will learn fish identification from live fish, stream ecology, and what the fish need from us as stewards in order to persist and benefit future generations. Historical anecdotes and more recent observations will hint at how conditions have changed through time. Some potential volunteer opportunities will also be discussed. Preschool Puppet Theatre Join Ollie Otter, Bucky Beaver, Freddy Frog and a chorus of animal friends as they discover the wonders of the Natural World. A brief ecology lesson will lead into a fun and interactive performance. The show will be followed by free puppet play, snack time, a hands-on craft, and an optional outdoor exploration.
