We will celebrate and learn about the plants, creeks, ponds, and animals around us through games, crafts, stories and a circle time with movement and song. We will have lots of summertime fun and imaginative play out in nature too. Children should bring a snack, lunch, water bottle, sun hat and sturdy play shoes. Botanical Drawing This one day intensive course will take you from loose sketching to detailed fine line and shading of stems, leaves and flowers. If time allows and participants are interested, we could delve into color application. Art supplies provided. Feel free to bring drawing pencils if you have favorites and any plant specimens that inspire you. I will have a variety of plants to choose from otherwise. We will spend each day outside playing games, learning ancient survival skills, camouflaging with our surroundings, and sharing adventures. Get to know the trees, plants, and animals that live along Bear Creek. Tune into nature and sharpen all of your senses to discover wildlife, edible plants, and natural tools. WILDS (Wilderness Immersion, Learning, Discovering, and Surviving) summer camps take place entirely outdoors. Making and Saving Energy in Ashland Gain a better understanding of how energy is consumed in buildings, and ways energy can be saved while still having the function and comfort everyone expects and wants.
