ready to lace up your running shoes? APRC will present the 4th of July Run on Tuesday, July 4. This annual run is steeped in tradition dating back to 1976! Two runs are offered, a 2-mile fun run and a 10K that attracts local competitors as well as running talent from other regions in the U.S. The routes are scenic and on closed roadways. A section of the 10K route is along the tree-lined Bear Creek Greenway. Both races start at 7:45 a.m. and are chip-timed. All ages are welcome. The start/finish line is near the Ashland Library, 410 Siskiyou Blvd, corner of 3rd St and Gresham St. Registration is now OPEN. T-shirts with this year’s logo are available for sale, when you register, for only $10/each. (Shirts must be or- dered by June 9.) The cost for youth is $10 for either run. Adult prices, ages 13 and up, start at $20. Register early and save $$$. The event is a fundraiser for the Ashland and Phoenix High School cross country teams. Register NOW at ashland.or.us/JulyRun. Following the run is Ashland’s Old-Fashioned 4th of July Celebration brought to you by Ashland Chamber of Commerce. The theme for this year’s event is “Together We Sing!” Whether you are singing for joy, community spirit, America, Independence Day, our Veterans or simply from your heart, you are invited to come together to honor the 4th of July and our beautiful town. Here’s a complete lineup of the day’s events: • 7:45am — 4th of July Run • 10am — The 4th of July Parade will kick off at Triangle Park and proceed down Siskiyou Blvd to the Plaza • 10am-5pm — Booth & Craft Fair in Lithia Park* (Be sure to stop by the Family Activity Zone near the entrance of the park) • Noon-4pm — Musical Performance at the Bandshell in Lithia Park, including performance by the Ashland City Band, SOULIVERSE and more • 8pm — American Band College Star Spangled Spectacular, “Ashland Pops Show” at the Ashland High School Stadium • 10pm — Public Fireworks Display presented by Ashland Chamber of Commerce from the SOU Athletic Field, Viewable from most parts of Ashland.
