The programs focus on each individual’s personal abilities and interests. Instructor Serena Hoke holds an MS in Adapted Physical Activity. As with most APRC programs, pre-registration is required. Adapted Programs commis s i o n E s t 1 9 0 8 Adapted Aquatics This program is a small group aquatics program focusing on the development of stroke, breathing skills and basic water safety toward improvement of each participant’s confidence in an aquatic environment. Participants should be independent enough to work in a 1:4 instructor- to-student ratio. Please bring your own swim goggles. Then karate is for you! Karate also teaches self control, focus, patience, respect, honor and how to connect the mind, body and spirit. This program is for individuals with developmental and/or physical disabilities. Skills and forms can be adjusted for each participant’s personal abilities. High-ranked students from the Ashland Karate Academy who have spent years training under the Grand Master Hanshi Jerry Piddington will be instructing this class.
